Fresh Prints (On TV)
Posted on April 19, 2015
My part in Fresh Prints: A Celebration of Ink and Paper held at the Northbridge Piazza, Perth, on Saturday the 18th of April, started the day before when I was asked to bring a few typewriters along for a Channel 10 (Perth) news segment …
As many of you know, I often resort to the lowest form of wit, but on this occasion I was out punned by a Channel 10 reporter who appeared in front of camera wearing a Will Smith tee-shirt …
Basically the script went like this:
“Hi guys, I’m here at the Northbridge Piazza where I thought I was reporting on an appearance by The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air … but no, what’s actually happening tomorrow afternoon is Fresh Prints: A Celebration of Ink and Paper. So why not head down and check out the market stalls, zine and print-making workshops, live performances and big screen entertainment. Oh and something called… vintage typewriters? I’ll Google that when I get home.”
Nice tee-shirt, and there was plenty of tee-shirt variety on the day itself …
Listen to your heart
As it turned out, typewriters appeared on the small screen and on the big screen that overlooked the piazza …
