Robert alerted me to the listing after the buyer left a comment/question on his Atlas Portable Typewriter post of May 2013.

The differences are:

  • an AZERTY as opposed to QWERTZ keyboard layout
  • what appears to be a plastic rather than a metal body, and hence
  • a different body shape with a narrower ribbon cover

… oh and the useful additions of tabulation and a Fast Spacer button.

I still wouldn’t swap it for mine.

It’s almost as if Antares were in a race to the bottom with the Japanese.

Still, if it’s anything like my LP44, it’s a better than average typewriter.
